Psychotherapy I provide psychotherapy to adults and couples to address a variety of issues. I integrate my clinical judgment, evidence-based knowledge, and your preferences to develop a treatment plan. Psychotherapy can be short-term and focused on a behavioral goal, or specific issue; and it can also be on-going and explorative.
Evidence-Based Treatments I provide focused, collaborative treatment, known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) applicable to a number of different mental health issues. You will learn how to identify how thinking and behaviors interact, and start to make behavioral changes. I also provide a number of specialty treatments for depression, including Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for depression; and Cognitive Behavioral System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) for chronic depression.
Trauma Focus Treatment Trauma can encompass many different incidents which overwhelm and tend to persist, psychologically and somatically, long after the event itself has resolved. My approach is phase-based: first assisting clients with establishing safety and stabilization, then trauma-focused reprocessing, and ultimately, reconnection as clients move from a position of surviving towards one of thriving. There are a number of options for you, when looking at how to work with trauma, if you feel that this is an area that needs addressing, we work at your pace. Focused treatments that I use to directly process trauma memory include but are not limited to: Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP).
